Post Natal massage is usually suitable from 6 weeks after giving birth and can be appropriate for many years after giving birth. It is a fantastic way to help restore your body after pregnancy and birth, as well as helping to relieve any aches, pains and tiredness you may have while caring for your new baby. Each treatment is tailored to your individual needs and includes a combination of relaxation, deep tissue and remedial massage techniques, gentle exercises and stretching. Regular Postnatal Massage can help to give nurturing and emotional support, to alleviate the muscle strain of pregnancy and childbirth, to promote pelvic floor healing and rebalance the spine and pelvis, to restore and normalise abdominal structures, to facilitate healing after a caesarian birth, restore normal walking patterns, to prevent and relieve back and neck pain caused by newborn care and to aid breastfeeding. You are welcome to bring your baby to the session so that he/she can lie next to you while you are being massaged. Alternatively, you are welcome to bring a friend or partner to help care for your baby while you enjoy your massage. Please let us know if you do plan on bringing your baby so that we can make sure you are both very comfortable.
